Stupid about books

I’ve been splurging in books, CDs and DVDs. I’ve bought a number of colourful art books, an imported Sid Vicious release (which turned out to kinda suck) and a CD/DVD combo of a remastered version of Jean Michel Jarre’s “Oxygene”. Now I’ve just spent quite a lot of money (over 5% of my monthly salary) on Amazon. I needed (or wanted, because I could just try and get by with the class notes) Berg, Kreveld et al’s “Computational geometry: algorithms and applications” for the computational geometry course I’m taking to relieve some of the work pressure. Then I decided I needed it super fast, so I ordered by the fastest courier delivery method. But since I was already buying from Amazon, I added in the two remaining Delanda books that are lacking in my collection. So I effectively ordered books I’m not gonna read for a while (I’m still finishing my first two Delandas) via the most expensive delivery method, so I can pile them on my table sooner.

I’m kind of a sucker when it comes to books.

I don’t have space for more books in my shelves; I’ve been piling them on tables. I should either buy a new, tall bookshelf or let go of material possessions and give away some shitty novels I bought when I was poor and dove into the $1 used book baskets. But I’m emotionally attached, so I keep on piling stuff.
